Game Rules:

1. The game is played on an 8×8 board featuring alternating dark and light squares.
2. Each player begins with 12 pieces positioned on the three rows closest to their side; the closest row is known as the "crownhead" or "king's row." The player with white pieces takes the first move.
3. Pawns move diagonally forward to adjacent unoccupied squares.
4. A pawn reaches the opponent's king row to be "crowned," gaining the ability to move both backward and forward along diagonals.
5. A crowned piece can continue its capture by jumping backward. Players may select their landing position after a capture.
6. Capturing an opponent's piece is mandatory and cannot be declined for a non-jumping move. If multiple capture opportunities exist, players may choose their sequence but must complete all captures in that order. Captured pieces remain on the board until all sequences are completed but cannot be captured again (following Turkish capturing rules).
7. A player loses when they have no valid moves left—this happens when they either have no pieces remaining or their pieces are blocked by the opponent's. A draw occurs when neither player can win, which can arise from repeated positions or mutual agreement between players under specific conditions.
